Our Company

Magda Lelek and Michael Andelman established Andelman and Lelek Engineering (ALE) as an engineering consulting company focusing on building energy modeling, energy efficiency consulting, commissioning of energy-consuming building systems, and sustainable building development especially as related to building energy systems.

The company is a Massachusetts corporation established in 1998 and is located in Norwood, MA.

Our People

Our team of professionals has a strong interest and a broad range of experience in building energy efficiency and sustainable design.

Our staff includes mechanical, architectural, and chemical engineers, including four licensed professional engineers, two Certified Energy Managers, three LEED APs, and an ASHRAE BEMP. The two principals have sixty years combined experience in building energy modeling.

Our Expertise

ALE’s core proficiency is energy modeling and energy efficiency consulting.

Our focus is using energy modeling as a tool to influence the design of new buildings to optimize energy efficiency and to demonstrate the cost effectiveness of different upgrades we may recommend to reduce energy use in existing facilities. All our employees are engaged in building energy modeling on a routine basis in support of utility incentive programs, zero net energy building (ZNEB) evaluation, MA stretch code compliance, LEED or CHPS certification, EPA/Green Communities certification, etc. We are also actively engaged in energy auditing, combined heat and power (CHP) assessment, and commissioning of building mechanical systems and controls.

Our Clients

ALE has very extensive experience in energy consulting and commissioning for a variety of buildings such as K-12 schools, universities, public buildings, hospitals, office buildings, laboratories, mid-rise and high-rise residential buildings, etc.

ALE provides services to a broad range of companies in both the private and public sector. In addition to corporate clients our customers include utility companies, state and municipal agencies, and local colleges and universities. Also, we have worked on numerous projects as consultants to architectural and engineering firms.
